To participate in Connecting Up's Donation and Discount program, eligible organisations must be non-profit non-government entities with a charitable purpose and, have an ABN and meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.
All of our donating and discounting partners have differing eligibility requirements over and above these requirements.
Is your organisation, charity or ITE fund listed on the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Register OR have its income tax exempt (ITE) status recognised on the Australian Business Register?
- No – go to next question
- Yes – Your organisation is likely to qualify to receive donated and discounted technology from some or all of our partners. Please follow the instructions to register for a Connecting Up account then the Donations and Discount Program here.
Is your organisation a non-profit and charitable in nature?
- No – unfortunately your organisation does not currently meet the core eligibility requirements for Connecting Up's Donation and Discount program.
- Yes – Your organisation will need to register with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (http://www.acnc.gov.au), OR provide evidence of its income tax exemption, as outlined below.
Does your organisation self-assess its income tax exemption?
- No – unfortunately your organisation does not currently meet the core eligibility requirements for Connecting Up's Donation and Discount program.
- Yes – If your organisation self-assesses its income tax exemption you will need to submit to us all of the following:
- a copy of your organisation's Certificate of Incorporation OR
- a copy of your organisation's current Constitution noting its nonprofit and/or dissolution clause
- a signed copy of your organisation's Income tax status review worksheet for self-assessing non-profit organisations, OR
- sporting organisations that self-assess their income tax exemptions must submit pages 20-26 of the Income tax exemption and sporting clubs document.
OR, alternatively If your organisation self-assesses its income tax exemption and operates under the Model Rules for an Incorporated Association, you will need to submit to us:
- a copy of your organisation's Certificate of Incorporation
- a signed copy of your organisation's Income tax status review worksheet for self-assessing non-profit organisations, OR
- sporting organisations that self-assess their income tax exemptions must submit pages 20-26 of the Income tax exemption and sporting clubs document.
All documentation may be scanned then emailed to customercare@connectingup.org
Once we have sufficient evidence of your organisation's income tax exemption you will receive an eligibility email typically from us, at which stage you will be qualified to place donation and discount requests via our platform.
